Rotary House is a project initiated by the Rotary Club of Burnaby.  The idea was originated in 1990 when Pat McNeil, Cliff White and Cal Bergan worked with the City of Burnaby to get the land, and architect to design the place, and raised an initial $20,000 too get construction started. The doors were opened in 1993 to 5 disabled individuals.  
 
 
 
Today the house is operated by the Vancouver Resource Society.  VRS was started by a group at G.F Strong. VRS operates one other place in Burnaby, 12 in Vancouver and has a place under construction in North Vancouver. Some places are assisted living while others provide independent living accommodation.
 
The Rotary Club of Buranby continues to support the maintenance of the home.
