January 2012 is a month that the Rotary Club of Burnaby will remember.

From hosting Past RI President Wilf Wilkinson, learning of Mel Shelley's life experience, learning about the work of Evergreen, to filling a container to Yerevan, Armenia and remembering Rotarian Milt Wylie, January was a month full of emotion for the club ...
Helen Beynon spoke about the work of Evergreen.  Evergreen is a not-for-profit organization that makes cities more livable. By deepening the connection between people and nature, and empowering Canadians to take a hands-on approach to their urban environments, Evergreen is improving the health of our cities—now and for the future.   For more information click on the following link: Evergreen

The club supported a container to be sent to Yerevan, Armenia in the amount of $2,500.  The Rotary World Help Network sends out thousands of dollars of used equipment, beds, school desks, etc each year.

The club  sadly lost its long standing member Milt Wylie who had 51 years of perfect attendance.  His commitment to service to the community whether it is local or international is an example for many to follow.  Milt will be missed.
