Jan. 31, 2020 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
In keeping with Rotary International’s NUMBER ONE INTERNAL PRIORITY, our District has partnered with "Get Inspired Talks"to host an event on May 23rd 2020 called "Rotary Get Inspired Talks".
This is the result of an overall recruitment strategy to attract new members to Rotary and help clubs achieve their growth targets. The event, which is organized and run by "Get Inspired Talks" seeks to inspire attendees to take action and make the necessary changes to improve their lives and communities.
The values of both organizations are very aligned and the District believes that Clubs will greatly benefit from this partnership, from attracting new members to receiving sponsorship funds.
They have developed a recruitment strategy for us to follow. Franco Gallo and Tom Smith are leading the recruitment charge.
Roger Killen (Founder of "Get Inspired Talks") and Rotarian Scott Stroshin (sgs@telus.net), will be visiting each club in the Lower Mainland in January to describe the details of this initiative.
Look Forwward in seeing everyone there.

Feb. 07, 2020 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
We got a great line up for February! Our first speaker is: Vanessa Wideski - Executive Director from Low Entropy Bio: For most of her life, Vanessa has been on a search for Big Truth, this curious nature has taken her on many adventures across the globe. In 2008 Vanessa made her way back home to Canada and decided to settle down, get married, have kids and start a business with her husband. She experienced a lot of success and endured some tumultuous times and is very grateful for all that she learned. In 2014 Vanessa experienced a turning point as she and her husband separated and filed for a divorce in 2015. Vanessa found herself back on the path of self-inquiry and chose to walk away from her business and embark upon a new journey that was more aligned with her pursuit for Life’s Big Questions; Who am I and Why am I here? After making this decision Vanessa experienced many meaningful acts of synchronicity as everything began to fall into place. She is now loving her current role as the executive director of Low Entropy. In Vanessa’s spare time, when she’s not making memories with her children, she’s doing her best to help spread the message of Love through this non-profit organization. Always striving to lower her own entropy first, Vanessa leads by example as someone who is doing what she can to actively participate in this paradigm shift moving us from fear to Love. See everyone there!

As many of you may be aware that the Wildlife Rescue Association is one of the organization that we've worked together with the Interactors to raise funds to their cause for the first walkathon back in October 2019. Following that successful walkathon - we had the pleasure to hand them a cheque with the Interactors in November. This would be a great opportunity to get an indepth understanding on Wildlife Rescue Assocation. Can't wait to see what they'll present that day!

Mar. 27, 2020 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
Our Meetings are moving online! Recently both Danison, Sammy and myself attended a virtual meeting online from the Rotary Club of Richmond.
Their club has decided to move their meetings online. All of three of us were pretty motivated and think this would an ideal way to connect with all of us.
We're aware that Vikki had also sent an email out to try to connect people with the use of SKYPE - Really want to say "THANK YOU" for taking the initative on that. We can use Skype as an alternative method of Zoom doesn't work for members.

Hello Team - With everything that has been happening - It's been a hectic time to figure out how to connect with members/friends and family - and now we're coming into May for our board meeting. Again - we'll be doing a video call for this board meeting using ZOOM CALL For instructions on how to download / stall and how to join please follow this link for a video tutorial: https://youtu.be/vFhAEoCF7jg KEEP IN MIND - that due to the heavy traffic of zoom calling - using a phone to call in isn't possible anymore. May 15, 2020 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
HELLO - SORRY - BUT THE FIRE SIDE CHAT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Instead we'll have Val Liddle who is the part of the Interact District to be discussing about year ahead in regards to the Interactors since it's Youth Month!
Join into same room via online OR on the phone (party line style)!
Eg. for non-tech folks, simply dialing in works too (no video though).
If you know how to use a phone, you can participate - this means EVERYONE.
All members, friends and visitors are welcome.
*DUE TO ZOOM BOMBINGS - we are now increasing security protocols to ensure privacy and safety of our members/guest. If you would like to attend the meeting - please email us and we'll provide you the proper steps to enter our meeting. THANK YOU.
THE LINK TO JOIN IS:
If you're calling (this is basically the old school "Party Line" type of telecon) in instead of video calling - please follow these steps.
Step 1) 1-778-907-2071, then
Step 2) Press Meeting ID number: 332 290 2636, then press the number sign "#"
(in case you are anywhere else the in world, there's almost always a local number to dial so there's NO long distance charges for you)
Find your local number here: https://zoom.us/u/abgCAegP8t

For instructions on how to download / install and how to join. Watch this short YouTube video: https://youtu.be/vFhAEoCF7jg
If you don't have a camera/video way of doing this virtual tour - you're welcome to call in as well.

I have arranged for Mayor Mike Hurley to meet via Zoom on Wednesday, May 20 at 12:15pm. It would be great to have members from all Burnaby clubs.
The Mayor would like to know, in advance of the Zoom, what issues we would like him to address or questions answered.
Please let me know by May 12 how many members are expected from your club and their emails for the Zoom invitation. Please make sure to send an email to Lana if you're able to make it and to join in!
