Shelter Box - Chris Loat
Feb 12, 2021 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM

Chris Loat ia a member of the Rotary Club of West Vancouver, a Shelterbox Ambassador, and Past Board Member of ShelterBox Canada.

What is Shelter Box?

ShelterBox teams work with disaster-hit families around the world, offering emergency shelter and other essential items to support them in rebuilding their lives.

Every disaster is different and so is every community, so we spend time with those affected to make sure we can offer the right support at the right time to help them recover.

Our teams can travel by boat, helicopter or tuk-tuk to get to the families who need your support – whatever it takes to get to the people who have lost their homes to disaster.

Rotary International Partnership since 2012

We are project partners with Rotary International, a global community of 1.2 million neighbours, friends and community leaders. Their aim is to create positive, lasting change in communities at home and all over the world.

By working together with Rotary, we are able to collaborate and combine resources to ensure that we can support more communities in desperate need of shelter.

Rotarians and Rotary groups across the world support us in a variety of ways, from raising funds to providing support on the ground during our response to a disaster.

This enables us to cross boundaries and work together to reach even the most remote communities.

This personal, community connection helps us to provide just the right support to enable people to lead in their own recovery – to make sure that our work has a lasting impact.
