Jun. 19, 2020 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE COVID-19 ALL FIGURED OUT – There is something else there we haven’t talked about with it…. Everyone in this world has been impacted by COVID19 in some way or another. It’s has already settled into our lives. It had spread so swiftly and quietly without warning. However, there is one thing that one individual that voiced out in an article: [COVID-19] One Important Recommendation You May Not be Hearing, which has spread faster than the virus itself. That spread is FEAR. So how does one try to alleviate these False Expectations Appearing Real aka FEAR? The Rotary club of Burnaby has invited: Dr. Eugene K. Choi who is a certified transformational mindset coach with a background in clinical pharmacy and filmmaking. As he dove deep into neuroscience, he discovered a proven approach that helps leaders significantly improve company productivity, profitability, and team performance through a science-backed methodology he brings his clients through. He had written the article to voice that concern back in March 18, 2020 to explain how FEAR is deadlier than the virus itself. Since then, his article has gone viral with many medical doctors and nurses sharing the article to provide awareness for it. We’re excited to bring Dr. Choi to touch on how COVID 19 relates to fear, and how it affects the mind and how the brain works in such a state. He’ll also share some techniques on how to alleviate that stress and be able to see the solutions and opportunities to better our community as a whole to be positive. Details of Dr. Choi: Please join the Zoom Meeting: Friday, June 19, 2020 12 PM; just click on, or copy and paste in your browser, this link: Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81569455084?pwd=TFVKSHJPbWlWV09oamljS2cxZTdFQT09 Meeting ID: 815 6945 5084 Password: 998661 Find your local number: https://us02web.zoom.us/u/kbN4BQ38T If you're calling (this is basically the old school "Party Line" type of telecon) in instead of video calling - please follow these steps.

As the mobility landscape continues to shift, the future of our cities as safe, inclusive and healthy spaces is at stake. Jerome, a data scientist at a Vancouver-based transportation technology company, will take you on a journey to turn the public transit crisis around. All aboard!
Author Bio: Jerome was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Urban Predictive Analytics Lab, based at UBC, from November 2017 until September 2019. In his research, Jerome asks questions such as, 'how is a city hardwired to be unequal? Who loses out in healthcare or education access? How does information spread through homeless networks?' His tools include statistics, numerical modelling, geospatial analysis and machine learning. Jerome is particularly interested in the ways research can be communicated to the public and used in the realms of policy and decision-making. He has worked for an international sustainability consultancy, for broadcasting networks in the UK, and for the UK's Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology. Hello Folks - We have invited the organication - Low Entropy to speak this coming Friday to talk more about personal development and how they're adapting and making changes to ensure we don't lose sight of personal growth even if we are able to be less active in meeting directly. Intro: Low Entropy is a registered charity that is making personal development accessible to all, and in doing so, providing people with tools to change themselves and the world. Conscious Connections is a free program where people meet to create a compassionate, safe space for each other while exploring transformational topics. In this encouraging, positive environment, we support each other by providing the opportunity for people to be seen, heard, and understood for who they truly are. As with all our programs, we encourage diversity and welcome inclusivity. Join Zoom Meeting |
