Hello Folks - Let's change the location and enjoy a nice lunch with some coffee and tea at Camelia's Tea & Coffee. A space has been reserved for us in the far corner at the back. We have the pleasure of inviting Lyda Salatian - Founder of the Go Green Team Canada here in the lower mainland. She will be speaking about how the organization came to be, and what it's about and what goals they're persuing as of now. I'm excited to hear what she has to say since I had a pleasure of attending her event a few weeks. It's amazingly organized and well prepared. All you have to do is to show up. I'm aiming to work together with the organization to get a service project in place on a continuous basis. Here is an link of the events and information on the organization. https://www.meetup.com/The-Lower-Mainland-Green-Team/ See everyone there. Sep. 20, 2019 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
Let's try another games day this month to get everyone involved and having some fun! We'll do two tuths and a Lie to see how well we know each other and to perhaps learn something new and fun you haven't realize about each other. Instructions: Ask all players to arrange themselves in a circle. Instruct each player to think of three statements about themselves. Two must be true statements, and one must be false. For each person, he or she shares the three statements (in any order) to the group. The goal of the icebreaker game is to determine which statement is false. The group votes on which one they feel is a lie, and at the end of each round, the person reveals which one was the lie. Look forward in seeing everyone there.

Nov. 01, 2019 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
For this coming Friday's meeting - we're excited to do a cheque presentation with Kristy James - CEO of the Burnaby Hospital Foundation. She'll also do a short talk about the foundation and where the money will be used for what. A short bio of Kristy James: Kristy began her career in the not-for-profit sector at Lions Gate Hospital Foundation where she progressed to Director of Donor Relations over a course of nine years. Her success led to a role as Executive Director with Cystic Fibrosis Canada, and most recently, Chief Executive Officer with Variety – the Children’s Charity in Burnaby. Kristy's list of experience in marketing and fundraising would be a great insight on how we can fundraise in our events to support our own cases. This would be a great opportunity to learn more about it. Be sure to have questions ready for her as well.
